I'm glad you like it.

Excellent concept, excellent background, excellent texture, excellent mixture of abstract pastels and dark metalish colours. Excellent in general dammit! =P

I can't wait to come over and touch it. I love 3D paintings! =D

I used my brand spanky new plastic knives for the background. You and I have to raid craft stores far more often.

whoa... The FORCE is strong in this one.

Seriously though - I like this a lot - spent a good two minutes just gazing when I saw it...

I see you've made friends with those aforementioned pallet knives. You've managed to retain your sense of rhythm too - many interesting strokes and shapes here... I think you've just made another favorite or mine. :)

Without losing your sense of spontaneity and expressiveness, the next thing to consider is composition and balance. Specifically, with regard to the edge of your composition here - the edges create a "saw tooth" pattern - something of a frame, I guess - I'm not 100% certain that this was intentional. Most of the imagery in the painting is well balanced and nicely placed, but consider cropping the left edge OR adjusting/adding strokes to make it less regular.

Keep up the great work!

I'm so glad that you like it; it felt like a bold experiment on my part.

As for the edges, they were intentional to begin with, but then I was struck on a wild tangent and forgot all about them. By the time I noticed they were grossly disproportioned, I decided to ere on the side of caution lest I do any more damage. Plus, I find it a little difficult to detect small flaws and lack of balance/symmetry when I've been staring at the same painting for too long.

Speaking of which, I do all of my paintings in one sitting, usually in under an hour. Is this bad? Should I be taking more time with my work?
